Art Dubai’s 6th edition crowns week of cultural discovery in Gulf

Art Dubai's 6th edition

(Dubai) – Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Art Dubai will be held from March 21-24, with 75 galleries from 32 countries showing paintings, sculptures, installations and video by more than 500 artists.
Art Dubai 2012 features non-commercial projects and programmes highlighting emerging and established talent from the Middle East, South Asia and beyond, including specially commissioned projects by Yto Barrada and Zid Zids, James Clar, The Curatorial Delegation (Abdellah Karroum and Juan A Gaitan), Setu Legi, UBIK, and Artists-in-Residence (A.i.R) Dubai participants Fayçal Baghriche, Magdi Mostafa, and Deniz Üster.
Commenting on the event, Antonia Carver, Fair Director Art Dubai said, “Art Dubai is a testament to the increased maturity, depth and breadth of the Middle East’s contemporary art landscape, with participants and guests from the four corners of the globe coming to join in the discussion around making, acquiring, understanding and enjoying contemporary art”.
