Sheikh Hamdan sets up Dubai Film & TV Commission

(Dubai) – H.H. Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council has issued a decision setting up Dubai Film & TV Commission. The decision appoints the Head of Dubai Studio City as the chairman of the Commission and the Commission shall include the following members from the following entities: Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Department of Economic Development, Dubai Police, Dubai International Film Festival, Dubai Media Office, Emirates Airlines and Jumeirah Group.
According to the decision, the Commission deliverables is to outline the strategy to increase local production and to attract international production in both Film & TV sectors; this shall be aligned with Dubai Strategy for 2015, and shall focus on GDP contribution, development of human resources and promoting Dubai as a premier location for the media production to contribute to the tourism sector.
