(Dubai) – H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, unveiled the “smart saddle”, a new invention by Emirati inventor Ahmed Majan.
The new saddle comes complete with solar-powered electronic devices that measure the horse’s heart rate, the weight of the rider, a compass, a location tracker, a cooler to bring down the body temperature of the horse in hot weather or during movement, as well as a hidden camera to keep track of its movement and a light-signalling device that can work in darkness, explained Majan.
The saddle was unveiled during the 11th edition of Dubai International Horse Fair (DIHF 2015) in Dubai.
Majan said that his new invention will be put on display at the 43rd edition of the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva which will be organised between 15-19 April.
