(Vienna) – Foreign Minister H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan attended the 2nd international ministerial meeting on Syria which opened in Vienna.
The meeting holds special significance as it will tackle specific approaches to activate the political process in Syria in order to arrive at a dialogue among the Syrian parties, under the umbrella of Geneva1 resolutions.
On the side-lines of the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah met earlier yesterday with his Austrian counterpart, Sebastian Kurz, and discussed with him bilateral relations and ways to enhance them.
Also discussed were regional and international issues of mutual interest, including the terrorist attacks which took place in France on Friday, proposed solutions to end the Syrian crisis and the role of Bashar Al Asad in the period of transition.
The meeting was attended by Faris Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Assistant Foreign Minister for Security and Military Affairs.
