Ambassadors Launch UAE’s first Diplomatic Magazine

(Abu Dhabi) – The first diplomatic magazine in United Arab Emirates, The International Diplomat started its publication to coincide with the 40th National Day celebrations of the UAE at an impressive ceremony held at the country’s capital, Abu Dhabi. The ceremony was attended by a large number of Ambassadors, and consular representatives, as well as business leaders from over 50 countries. The International Diplomat believes in promoting goodwill and friendship between people and countries, and to cover the events and activities of the UAE based Embassies, Consulates and Business Councils.

Speaking about the new publication, the magazine’s publisher and editor in chief, Javed Malik, who is himself a former Ambassador said that “there was a need to have a dedicated publication for the diplomatic community because majority of the activities and events being organized by the embassies and consulates do not get coverage by mainstream media. The International Diplomat will fill that gap.

Paying rich tribute to the cosmopolitan society of the UAE he said that ‘we could not ask for a better place to launch The International Diplomat than the United Arab Emirates, because this country is a glowing example of how people from different nationalities, cultures and faiths can live, work and do business together and achieve collective success and progress. We aim to celebrate this ‘model of peaceful co-existence” he added. Being the first and only Diplomatic magazine in the UAE, The International Diplomat would cover national day receptions, business and trade events, cultural and social activities that emanate from more than 90 Embassies, 50 consulates and trade missions, as well as 65 business councils based in United Arab Emirates. In addition to some of the most vibrant and high profile events that are being organized in the United Arab Emirates which has become a destination of choice for various world organizations including the United Nations.

The diplomatic community in the UAE has warmly welcomed the new publication and the first issue contains interviews and features with UAE based Ambassadors and Consul Generals of United States, United Kingdom, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Lebanon, France, Germany, South Africa, Pakistan and Chile. The Event was attended by a large number of Ambassadors who appreciated and applauded this effort.

The editorial team is led by prominent UAE based media personality, and former Ambassador Mr. Javed Malik, and he is assisted by a team of
multinational writers and editors from United States, Europe, Asia and the Arab world.
