Crown Prince meets German Defence Minister

(Manama) – His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, met the German Federal Minister of Defence,Dr. Ursula von der Leyen, on the sidelines of the 12th Manama Dialogue.
His Royal Highness highlighted Germany’s continued support to the GCC across a range of regional security and development challenges.
His Royal Highness also highlighted the strong relations between Bahrain and Germany across many sectors and stressed the importance of continuing to enhance political, economic and security cooperation.
His Royal Highness then praised Germany’s participation at this year’s event, which he said demonstrated the country’s commitment to addressing key security issues impacting the region. His Royal Highness went on to welcome the participation of H.E. Dr. Ursula von der Leyen at a plenary session on combating extremism in the Middle East and beyond this morning.
The Crown Prince and the German minister also discussed regional developments, as well as key issues on this year’s Manama Dialogue agenda.
Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa and Lieutenant General Yousef bin Ahmed bin Hussain Al Jalahma, the Minister of Defence Affairs, attended the meeting.
