Emirati Mount Everest climbers received

(Ras al Khaimah) – H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras al-Khaimah, received the UAE Armed Forces team who recently climbed to the top of Mount Everest.
During the meeting at his palace, Sheikh Saud praised the UAE leaders, namely President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, for supporting the team to conquer the mountain which stands at an altitude of 8828 metres above sea level.
“You are a source of pride for your country. You raised your country’s flag high on the world’s highest mountain. The achievement would not have been possible without your dedication and persistence.”
The team members thanked the UAE leaders for extending support to their mission.
The team included 13 members of several ranks, one of whom is a doctor specialising in sports medicine and altitude physiology, and three professional mountain climbers.
