FNC praises UAE’s humanitarian initiatives

(Abu Dhabi) – The Federal National Council (FNC) held its 7th session of the 15th legislative chapter under the chairmanship of its Speaker Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr. During the session, the FNC passed amendments to the law no. 2 for 1989, permitting citizens of the GCC countries to undertake retail and wholesale trade in the country.
The Council also discussed the policy of the Emirates Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) and of the Emirates Securities Market (ESM) and adopted a number of recommendations.
The session was attended by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy and Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Minister of Federal National Council of Affairs.
Opening the session, Al Murr extended greetings to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates and to the people of the UAE and of the Arab and Islamic worlds on the occasion of Prophet Mohammed’s (PBUH) birthday anniversary.
He praised the initiative of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to help thousands of refugees in Jordan and Lebanon to face and survive through a wave of extreme cold, forecast to hit the region in the coming days, and the subsequent Show Compassion campaign launched by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The ‘Thank You Protectors of the Country’ campaign, launched by Sheikh Mohamed to extend thanks to the armed forces in the UAE, was also lauded.
