(Abu Dhabi) – The Gulf Cooperation Council for Arab States (GCC) Ministers of Interior, underlined that the attack on al-Sadiq Mosque last Friday in Kuwait, has reawakened the sense of solidarity among Kuwaitis and prompted them to hang on to their newfound spirit of unity.
They added during an extraordinary meeting held in Kuwait that the solidarity among the people of Kuwait sends an unequivocal message to those conspiring to stir up sectarian strife and disturb homogenous social fabric, that their evil plans and criminal intentions are bound to fail. The ministers expressed their pride and appreciation for the high national spirit exercised by the people of Kuwait.
The meeting was attended by Lt. General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, who headed the UAE delegation to the extraordinary meeting.
The meeting was also attended by Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the Saudi Crown Prince, First Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, the Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Mohammed Al Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah, the Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Minister of Interior, Hamoud bin Faisal al- Busaidi, Oman’s Interior Minister, and Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
