Godolphin wins Dubai World Cup

(Dubai) – Godolphin’s Monterosso has made history by winning the 17th Dubai World Cup, the world’s richest horse race, at Meydan Racetrack.
Monterosso’s jockey, Mickael Barzalona stood high in the saddle with his arm even higher as Monterosso hit the line well. On the historic victory of the UAE horses, flood of congratulations poured on Prime Minister H.H. Sheikh Mohammed.
Sheikh Mohammed received the gold cup from H.H. Sheikh Hamdan, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, and dedicated the victory to the UAE President and people.
Speaking at the occasion, Sheikh Mohammed told the local and international media that he is glad and proud of the winning the UAE horses have made at the world’s most prominent racetrack and before eyes of more than 60,000 fans.
