(Abu Dhabi) – UAE’s Green Festival was held in Masdar City in the capital Abu Dhabi which was attended by governmental, private and sponsors representatives. At the event, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) ensured its support for the long-term national initiative launched in January of last year by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to build a green economy in the UAE under the slogan ‘A Green Economy for Sustainable Development’, and it is one of the major government agencies that takes it upon itself to share the responsibility for sustainable environment in Dubai in particular and the UAE in general.
Speaking at the event, H.E. Adai Al Deesi, Head of the Green Economic Committee and Director of Assets and Properties in the RTA s Corporate Technical Support Services Sector said, “this festival which will be held from March 16 to April 16, 2014 for the first time in the region and sets off in most parts of the State, enhances the leadership of the UAE as one of the Green destinations in the world, pointing out that the Authority positions sustainability within its strategic objectives due to its full awareness of its social responsibility towards the environment and the citizens of the State”.
