(Manama) – His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has affirmed that Bahrain’s human rights achievements are numerous, and have covered various fields, highlighting constant directives to inform the world about the kingdom’s human rights strides through effective media tools.

The Prime Minister made the statements while receiving at the Gudaibiya Palace the Council of Commissioners at the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), led by Dr. Abdulaziz Abul, who submitted to him the two annual reports for 2015 and 2016.

HRH Premier lauded the reports which included a description of the human rights situation in the kingdom, and ways to develop it through taking advantage of international expertise in this regard, as well as efforts to highlight the kingdom’s human rights strides through communication with the relevant organisations.

The Prime Minister asserted that the government deals with the human rights issue from a comprehensive perspective and concept whose ceiling has no limits, explaining that the government is keen to make sure that the citizens enjoy their full rights to live decently in security, tranquility and stability, as well as to ensure that all services required for decent living are put in place for them.

Human rights values are well-protected in Bahrain, and this is denied only by the ungrateful who are unhappy with the progress boom witnessed by the kingdom in every field, he said, stressing Bahrain’s keenness to enhance cooperation with all international human rights institutions which seek a better human rights situation, and share with it its approach to develop the concept of human rights to make it a culture in society and government work.

HRH the Prime Minister lauded the achievements of the National Institution for Human Rights in the field of human rights in the kingdom, adding that those milestone accomplishments have echoed locally and internationally.

Chairman and members of the NIHR’s Council of Commissioners expressed honour in submitting reports to HRH Premier and listening to his directives on human rights.

They lauded the constant support of the government, led by HRH the Prime Minister, to every national effort aimed at boosting human rights.
