(Abu Dhabi) – The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has sent a ship carrying 3,000 tonnes of food and aid supplies to Yemen, as part of the UAE’s efforts to help those affected by the ongoing crisis in the country.
The assistance was launched under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and the follow-up of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.
An official spokesperson at the Khalifa Foundation said that the ship left Port Rashid in Dubai bound for Aden carrying food and aid supplies to help alleviate the unprecedented suffering of civilians due to the severe shortage of food, medicine, water and fuel.
So far, the foundation has sent 7,800 tonnes of food, medicine and medical supplies, as part as its continuous efforts to support people in Yemen.
