(Kuwait) – The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior revealed the identity of the bomber who attacked a mosque packed with worshippers on Friday, saying that he was a Saudi national who entered Kuwait by air.
The Kuwait News Agency quoted the ministry’s press statement as saying, “The suicide bomber who blew himself up on Friday at Imam Al-Sadiq Mosque in Al-Sawaber district was a Saudi citizen named Fahad Suleiman Abdulmohsen Al-Gabbaa.”
Al-Gabbaa entered the country at dawn on Friday, the same day the attack took place, according to the MoI statement, which added that he entered through Kuwait International Airport.
The MoI said the ‘horrific’ bombing took place on Friday, when the suicide attacker entered Imam Al-Sadiq Mosque in Al-Sawaber in the heart of the capital, and set off explosives strapped to his body. Twenty-seven people died and 227 others were wounded in the attack.
