Premier directs to meet villagers’ housing needs

(Manama) – His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has given directives to increase the Duraz villagers’ share from the Northern City project to absorb housing applications.

The Prime Minister was also informed about the studies prepared by the Housing Ministry to implement a housing project in Duraz, and instructed to complete its technical requirements in coordination with the relevant government entities.

He also directed to take the aesthetic aspect while planning and designing the project, as well as to exploit lands in a development way that meets the needs of the present and the future.

HRH Premier also stressed the need to give enough attention to green spaces to be outlets for the residents, and allocate special areas for gardens and cultivation.

The Prime Minister made the statements while receiving Housing Minister, Bassim bin Yaqoob Al Hamar, and Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister, Essam bin Abdulla Khalafa, at the Gudaibiya Palace.

HRH Premier was updated on the progress of the housing and service projects in Duraz, Jannusan, Sitra and the Northern City.

The Prime Minister stressed the need to implement all the projects aimed at enhancing the development process and serving the citizens according to schedule, urging to complete the technical studies of projects to develop towns and villages and establish new cities as soon as possible in order to meet the service needs of the local citizens in all fields.

HRH Premier affirmed that the government will spare no efforts in order to provide the citizens with various quality services, including housing.

The Prime Minister followed up on the executive steps taken so far to implement his directives to the Housing Ministry and Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry regarding a proposed site for a housing project in Duraz.

HRH Premier was also informed about the Duraz village housing and service needs, as well as about efforts to meet the housing needs of the Jannusan villagers, and the proposed sites to implement housing projects that benefit them.

HRH the Prime Minister also followed up on the latest developments regarding the East Sitra Housing project, and the technical steps taken so far.
