(Manama) – At a meeting at Gudaibiya Palace with citizens from Muharraq, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa named the development project of the seafront in Muharraq “Sa’ada” (Happiness) as it aims to make citizens feel happy and provide them with a beautiful recreational facility.
The delegation of citizens thanked HRH the Prime Minister for launching the major project linking the old Muharraq Souq to a modern waterfront with recreational, tourism and commercial facilities. The landmark mega project will feature a multi-storey car park, a hotel, a traditional market, like the old souq, that will be built on the current location of Muharraq Post building and connected with the seafront through a pedestrian bridge. It will also have a jetty, a walkway and an area for restaurants and cafes.
HRH the Premier underlined the government’s continuous efforts to beautify and develop towns and villages all over Bahrain, pointing out the need for more projects in Muharraq due to its historical importance. He also reiterated keenness to provide citizens with all needed services in order to ensure a decent life for all Bahraini people.
HRH the Prime Minister paid tribute to the Bahraini people, praising unity and cohesion characterizing them. He commended contribution of the Bahraini people to national work, describing them as the pillar and target of the development march.
