Sharjah Light Festival kicks off

(Sharjah) – The fourth edition of the Sharjah Light Festival kicks off with lights illuminating the Sharjah Municipality’s new building near Kuwait Square. The festival, which will run until February 14, is the first and largest of its kind in the Middle East and will be celebrated under the theme of Sharjah, the Capital of Islamic Culture for 2014.
Illuminating Sharjah’s architectural monuments for nine days, the event is set to highlight Emirati, Arabic and Islamic culture. It also features international artists and performers who use the magic of lighting and cutting-edge 3D technology to narrate the story of Sharjah’s heritage and architecture.
The light presentations and designs will take place in 12 different locations of which nine will be in Sharjah, and three will be in the Eastern Region of the emirate.
