(Abu Dhabi) – His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received the visiting Sudanese President, Omer Hassan al-Beshir, on the margins of the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX).
Sheikh Mohamed and the Sudanese President reviewed the bilateral and cooperation ties, and ways to consolidate them in a way that serves the interest of the two countries.
Sheikh Mohamed emphasised that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is keen to bolster ties of fraternity and cooperation with the Republic of Sudan in various fields for the benefit of the two countries.
On his part, President al-Beshir lauded the remarkable progress and achievements the UAE is witnessing under the wise leadership of President Khalifa, saying the UAE has become a model of civilised renaissance.
The two parties stressed the need for concerted efforts and coordination among Arab countries to address emerging developments and challenges in order to ensure security and stability in the region. Sheikh Mohamed and al-Beshir also exchanged views on a variety of regional developments and events of mutual concern. They also touched on the ongoing IDEX and how Arab countries can learn lessons from successful experiences and experiments to modernise their defence industries.
H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and Ahmed Juma Al Za’abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs, attended the meeting.
