Statement of European Commission following Greek referendum

(Brussels) – The European Commission has said that it takes note of, and respects, the result of the Greek referendum.
In a statement released, European Commission President, Jean-Claude Juncker, said he will be consulting tonight and tomorrow with the democratically elected leaders of the other 18 Eurozone members as well as with the Heads of EU institutions. A conference call among the Euro-Institutionals, including the President of the Euro Summit, the President of the Euro Group, and the President of the European Central Bank are also to take place.
The statement added that President Juncker intends to address the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Tuesday.
