UAE celebrates Flag Day

UAE celebrates Flag Day

(Dubai) – Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum hoisted the UAE flag at 12 noon at Al Khor Park to mark the occasion of UAE Flag Day. The UAE Flag Day coincides with the anniversary of the accession of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the Presidency. The event saw the participation of 5,000 students from 100 nationalities.
Sheikh Mohammed affirmed the significance of the event as an occasion to celebrate national values and remind citizens of their responsibilities towards their country.
Sheikh Mohammed said: “I called on the people of the UAE to come together to raise the national flag at the same time to reaffirm our sense of unity. We take this opportunity to reaffirm our loyalty to this country, and strengthen our efforts to work together for the progress of the nation. We also take this opportunity to renew our allegiance to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and commit ourselves to protecting our flag and our country.”
His Highness added: “Our flag is a symbol of our unity and strength. It is our duty to protect it. As part of our responsibilities towards our country, we need to work harder, strive for greater achievements and commit to protecting our country. It is our duty to constantly strive for greater excellence in all aspects.”
