(Abu Dhabi) – The Martyrs’ Families Affairs Office at Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court has approved the main activities for observing the first anniversary of the Martyr’s Day on 30th November.
The move is an attempt to unify special national events for the Martyr’s Day so that they match the importance of this national occasion, which celebrates the lives of Emirati sons who had made the supreme sacrifice to ensure the security, stability and safety of the UAE.
The office said the main activities will be launched under the hashtag, “We will never forget their sacrifices.” The activities will boost societal participation and enable all categories of the society to express their pride about the sacrifices of the Emirati heroes.
In collaboration with the National Media Council, the office will launch the hashtag for the national campaign to commemorate the first anniversary of the martyrs. The hashtag, ‘We will never forget their sacrifices’, will be launched through the social media networks to allow community members to interact through the hashtag, share images, messages and video clips, in which they can express their appreciation for the sacrifices made by the Emirati martyrs.
The Martyr’s Day events will start at 8:00am on 30th November, 2015, with the lowering of the UAE flag across the country. The flag will remain lowered till 11:00am. It will be followed by a minute’s silence and supplication from 11:30am to 11:31am. After the moment’s silence, the UAE flag will be flown again with the playing of the UAE national anthem.
