(Geneva) – The U.A.E. has participated in the opening session of the World Investment Forum (WIF) in its fourth edition being held at The Palace of Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, from 13th -16th of October. The U.A.E. delegation is headed by H.E. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy.
The WIF, which for this session is being held under the theme: “Investing in Sustainable Development”, is organised every two years by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, “UNCTAD”. The opening session was attended by the Minister of Economy along with Abdullah Al Saleh, Secretary-General of the Emirates Competitiveness Council and a number of senior officials from government and private sectors.
Al Mansouri said that the WIF provides an important platform for the promotion of the investment environment characterised by the U.A.E., combined with encouraging legislation and laws for investment, business and advanced infrastructure for transportation services, transportation and logistics services.
He pointed out that participation in this important international event comes within the framework of the ongoing efforts to perpetuate the status of the U.A.E. at an international level as a centre for investment and economic and commercial activity, as well as an international terminal for institutions, corporations and businesses.
